buildinpublik is a public leaderboard for independent founders. Using it means agreeing to what follows.

The account

You need an account to list a project. You are responsible for what happens under it. One person may list more than one project, and each project needs its own verified domain.

What you are claiming when you list a project

You confirm that you control the domain you submit, and that the revenue key you connect belongs to the business behind that project. Listing a project you do not run, or connecting revenue that is not the project's revenue, is the one thing that makes the whole board worthless, and it is grounds for removal without notice.

What we publish

When you publish a project we show its name, tagline, website, rank, verified monthly recurring revenue, and paying customer count. Revenue is shown only when it comes from a live provider key we could read. Test mode revenue is never published. Unpublish at any time from your dashboard and the public numbers come down.

What the numbers are and are not

Verified means we read a figure from your payment provider with a read only key and published what we read. It does not mean we audited your business, confirmed the revenue is collectable, or checked the currency conversion against your own books. Rank is our formula and we may change it. Nothing here is financial advice or a representation to an investor, and we make no guarantee that any figure on this site is accurate at the moment you read it.

The badge and the share card

You may embed our badge and share our cards on your own site and anywhere else, including commercially. They must be used unmodified, and they must link back to the project profile they describe.

Fair use of the service

Do not attempt to inflate your own numbers or deflate anyone else's. Do not scrape the site at a rate that costs us money; ask instead. Do not submit material that is illegal, or that you do not have the right to publish.

Availability

The service is provided as is, without warranty. It is free today. We may introduce a paid tier, and if we do, we will not move something you already have behind it without telling you first.

Removal

We may remove a project that breaks these terms. You may remove your project at any time, and deleting it removes it from the board and from every public surface.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance of the new version.
